ISS-2007 is a perfectly pre-planned show. Even the winner was pre-decided. I suspect that even the sms was manipulated. We love you and your songs so much Najim. This is a competition and the real winner should emerge naturally. There should not be any form of partiality or pushing. We hate the judges who pushed the some singers ahead of other talented singers thru out the ISS-2007. If anybody thinks otherwise, I am sympathetic about them.

Thushar had the highest sms in the finals. I was wondering howcome this trend reversed in favor of Najim all of a sudden. (unless there is a mindblowing performance by him -that didn't happen either). So in that case Thushar should be leading from the beginning(it is convincing to assume like that). This didn't happen. THat means they have manipulated the sms also , with the necessary support from the judges in the form of marks, made their favorite as the winner, leaving behind the jewels Thushar and Durga.
By making the mega final a live show, they tried to convince the people that everything is clear, and the voting also live.
So altogether it was a well planned and well organised corruption and each one did their role beautifully. No one thought about the two disheartened singers in this game.

In the first round durga and najim had a difference of 4 marks. But in second round najim got 162 and durga 151.
13 more marks than Durga
Can anybody agree with this mark difference of 14 in the second round.
This was a total set up.

This is one of the best observations on Idea star Singer I have seen on any site. The show has spoiled one acdemic year of the participants who had to leave the show at different stages before the Mega final. Asianet has brought a great carnatic music expert like Dr.Balamurali Krishna as the chief guest in the Mega final and gave the prize to a contestant like Najim who is not one among the best classical singers in the show. On the one hand Asianet claims that their "idea" is to find out the best singer, while on the other hand they say that they are looking for a singer who is a good performer also. Asianet, please define your goal before conducting the contest and make it clear to the participants, judges and viewers. If you are looking for a singer who is a performer or a performer who is a singer also, then bringing people like Dr.Balamurali Krishna will spread a wrong message. If you give at least some importance to "classical music sense" of the contestant then Dr. Balamurali Krishna is an ideal choice. Choosing Najim as the winner instead of Thushar clearly tells us that you have double standards.

There should be a sincere and serious investigation on all the foul plays that occurred during the Mega final of ISS-2007 to choose Najim as the winner. In order to divert the attention of people Asianet cleverly brought Venjaramoodu. His "unprofessional" performance made the show even miserable. Even the presence of Dr.Balamurali Krishana did not help to bring credibility of the show. Renjini was repeatedly asking Dr. Balamurali Krishna to announce the winner. Probably he might also had smelled something fishy!

First of all Najim is a winner only for the judges and the channel. In the minds of people Thushar and Durga are the winners.
After Thushar's kacheri, the significance of the other rounds that were followed has diminished,because no one is would surpass Thushar's performance in kacheri. Thushar could take the viewers into a different world thru his kacheri, that is why people asked the channel to telecast that episode again. If a singer could achieve this ,that itself is the victory.
Many accuse that Thushar scored high marks only in kacheri. But that performance itself was complete in itself encompassing all the factors needed for a master singer.
Mega final was a degraded event right from the substandard anchor (her clothing needs special mentioning), the sms manipulation, the biased marking by the corrupted judges and very poor quality organisation. You can write an essay on that.
They would have decided the ISS 2008 winner already. So students and children, think smart and act smart. Don't waste your time and studies. Your future is more important for you than participating in this corrupted show.

You are wrong Kuttan. About the essay, I mean. One can write a complete book on the manipulative (non?)reality show, that is ISS 2007. I have found many people supportive of Najim who feel that others' criticism of Najim is out of hatred for him. But, anyone who has been watching the show from the beginning can see how everything was being manipulated! Forget Thushar's kacheri which was on the highest plane, no doubt! But, the first performance to get the greatest applause / marks was Thushar's mix masala round. That was also simply out of this world. Najim was not even known at that time. Then, apparently the powers-that-be told the judges who the final winner was to be. From then, on, it has been total brainwashing of the viewres. In fact, my theory is that it was Asianet who started off the rumour that Najim is the winner. Then, they started countering it. Then, the judges started saying that how can they not give good marks to Najim when he is singing so well. Slowly, we found that Najim was getting 80+ marks even for average performances while similar or better performances by Thushar fetched him 70 or thereabouts. I won't blame the people who are supportive of Najim. When you hear a person being praised day in and day out by eminent people, it is bound to influence your thinking. While other contestants who are receiving the flak every other day go down in people's opinion. The final sms number was also rigged indirectly (if Asianet can be absolved of direct rigging!?) due to such influences!!!! But one must appreciate the brain behind all this!!!! And that brain seems to have studied George Orwell's 1984 very well!!!!!

I guess its just repeatedly a set of 10 to 12 people who keep posting here and they all are biased against najim.
If najim was bad in mega finals, so was durga and thushar. all of them were equally bad/good. dont spoil the future of that young guy with these totally stupid and untrue statements. He's a brilliant singer. Is it even a big deal who gets the first, 2nd whatever? The really good singers have already entered into the hearts of the ACTUAL music lovers. so you guys dont bother :p. keep cribbing about your favorites not winning that stupid flat. GROW UP all of you. Be encouraging and give only critisisms which would improve their singing and attitude . dont destroy the confidence of singers by these irritating comments. All of them are amazing singers and the most deserving of them all won. Im sure durga, thushar, arun and najim are in good terms.Its only you guys who are fighting.For the second time... This forum is biased against Najim for some reason....when he gets more SMS it is manipulation of Asianet or the muslims all over gulf....Grow up!...then where is all hindus and christians??....why they didn't promote the others?....too bad! All of them are good at their own terms...Thushar performed extraordinarily in the Kachery doesn't mean that he should be the winner....Najim also performed eexceptinally in ghazal round....come on guys....this is a reality show....for some reason or other Najim won the heart of people...do not bring religion or some politics....Najim is a very good singer and so are Durga and Thushar....there is nothing wrong in Najim won the title....he really deserve it....

I do not believe that there is any hatred against Najim in any of the postings. The hatred is against the partiality of the judges and the foul play of the Asianet in the Grand FINALE. This is a warning for them so that the future contestants of the show will get benefited.
Najim is not a bad singer at all; he is certainly not the best to win the title either. As you aptly put it, "if Najim was bad in mega finals, so was Durga and Thushar; all of them were equally bad/good." If that is the case, the title should naturally go according to their performance in the final round. But it did not happen.
You are right, the really good singers have already entered into the hearts of the ACTUAL music lovers like you and me. But this is a competition. There has to be criteria on who gets first, second etc. The criteria as Asianet puts it is the judge's marks and sms. In an ideal situation both of these should be proportional to the real talent of the contestant. There had been several occasions as pointed out in this site several times this proportionality DID NOT work in that way. Some contestants like Hisham and Najim received unjustifiable support from judges that was denied to other contestants like Thushar and Durga. Thushar and Durga had to perform "extraordinary" to match with an "average" performance of Najim or Hisham in terms of marks. After tolerating all these if these contestants were sidelined in the mega final is something really serious. No one who has eyes and ears could stop from responding. Whether one grows up or down has to raise up to the occasion.
You are right, winning that stupid flat is not a big thing for a talented singer. But cheating in the name of a title is a big thing. That would destroy the confidence of the singers more than the criticisms and comments on this site or elsewhere.
Finally my prayers are with Thushar, Durga, Najim and Arun for a bright future and excellent music career.

I agree that Thushar performed extraordinarily in the kachery doesn't mean that he should be the winner. What I still do not understand is why Asianet decided to invite a kachery man like Dr.Balamurali Krishna as the chief guest and not a ghazal singer!

Glad that the show is over. Can not bear cheating anymore. SMS for Najim progressed uniformly keeping the lead at 30K all the time.
Cheating from the judges were very obvious. May the god of music take away all the musical abilities from these judges!!!

There is no hatred against any singer. It is a protest against the injustice and partiality of the judges and the associated people of the show.
Those who really deserved didin't get the due recognition in the show.
I feel as individuals, it is our moral duty to fight against the injustice that is being felt in the society in any field or at any level, in whichever way is possible for us for the betterment of our society.

It seems ASIANET is still thinking that its viewers are completely stupid and do not have brains. This reflects in the words of Renjini these days. She repeatedly says 'Ningal thiranjedutha Ningalude star singer"... bla..bla..bla.. I feel like asking Renjini and the others behind the ISS-2007 "Ningal cheytha paapam enthinu paavam prekshakarude thalayil kettivakkunnu ?".

How unfortunate that Najim supporters on this site repeatedly mention the word "hatred" when Najim's selection is criticised!!! While other contestants are criticised no one utters any similar meaning/sounding word. Their supporters just take the crticisms and put forth their arguments. Does this reflect anything?! I wonder!!!! I am sure most of those who have criticised Najim's selection have nothing against Najim or his winning the competition. All the singers are good on their day. And they all have a long way to go. If Najim is consistent, Thushar's spectacular performances are unbeatable. Durga and Arun are as good as Thushar and Najim in their own way. And so are so many other contestants like Hisham, Amrutha etc who made exits earlier. What is being raised on this forum is the manipulation by Asianet and the judges which has been blatantly evident...

No one has any hatred for any singer whether it is Najim or any bobody else. All are upset because of the fixing done by the organisers from early on in the show. To me the real losers are the judges as one will always remember them for their double standards.

And what was that performance by Sharath on the grand finale. To me it was an utmost ugly composition. Thushar's composition in one of the rounds was so beautiful and the judges had the temerity to deride him over that. And Usha Uthup's Asianet song was also too boring. How many times have the judges mentioned that ISS 2007 is the best show in the world? And how many times have they and others mentioned that the judging has been impartial?! Where is the need for all this proclamations if it indeed was the best show and the judgement was truly impartial?

In this thread and the ones before this there have been a NUMBER of people who have shown hatred towards najim through their words. So lets not pry on the obvious fact that people are biased and are showing hatred!
ok.. who would you want to crown as the best singer? someone who can just repeat what he/she has been taught? A singer has to be dynamic! vibrant and creative! apart from all these there has to be the very important element- FEEL. All singers here are good but creativity, feel and dynamism was found abundant in najim;s singing. Not saying others are bad. Just saying that najim show cased all that when it was required! you cant keep all your talents within you and still expect prizes :p

if you have problem with the judges and people of asianet, then yell at them. dont degrade the participants and their talents. thushar is awesome but he's not versatile as najim is. Just because the judges are showing favouritism dont show ur anger on the participants..

Just compare TVS saregama of yester years and the saregamapa of now. Please someone take asianet to court for cheating people of kerala. This will be a dark spot in the career of Najim. The best thing for him to do is give up the first prize to Durga who mesmerized everyone in the final. Otherwise he will not have a career in music industry. I work in the industry.

People are allowed to send SMSs for their favourite contestants from various part of the world including UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait etc. Asianet announced the cut off time for SMS as 10.00 PM Indian time and results came out within 10 minutes. I could not beleive such a mis managed show organizer, Asianet, coordinated with so many diffrent overseas offices or representatives to get the correct number of SMS received within such a short period.

And the Mr. Anonymous who is repeatedly talking of hatred to Najim, please control your emotions. Just your saying that Najim is versatile will not make him versatile. As far as I have seen, nobody in this show could be really called versatile. All of them have a long way to go. Anyway, what you are saying about abolishing reality shows has got lot of substance. I am not worried about the "hatred" spelt out by you. But, the participants will surely be misled by all the glamour. Its sure to affect their talent and career. Because humility and good feeling cannot survive in such glamour. And these are the basic requirements for a good human / artiste. One just has to travel west (and look at the Lohans and Britneys) to realise what such stardom can do to a personality. The minds are sure to get corrupted!!!!! My god! Just imagine 40 lakhs for an year's work at such young age!!!!!

najim sings ghazals well, romantics songs well, a folkish songs like salam salam well.. classical not in par with thushar.. but defnly more versatile compared to others thats all.durga and najim were the only 2 people who showcased their versatility. Its OBVIOUS that all of them have a long way to go. i was only talking relatively among the ones who participated in ISS 07. ok?!!

ISS 2007 A BIG HOAX
The mega final was a big flop. None except the live audience in Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium could hear Najim sing the first song due to a technical snag in transmission. The SMS votes were going from hundreds to thousands and lakhs in no time. If so many SMS were flying around I am sure all the cellular lines would have been totally jammed with the traffic. Asianet has taken the viewers on a solid ride on the SMS votes. The judges never declared the marks in the second round or was it blacked out yet again because of a technical snag??? Conspicuous by their absence in any of the performances in the mega final were Amrutha and Hisham eventhough Varun made his presence.For all the hype and hoopla created the mega finals was a tame event. It was a foregone conclusion that Najim was going to be crowned ISS 2007. For Durga and Arun getting appreciation and a chance to sing with MSV is worth more than a flat, fiesta or an alto.

"Versatility" is a purely hypothetical terminology. No one in ISS-2007 is versatile. Thushar is unbeatable with his classical music background and switching between different styles of music in a mix masala. Najim's husky voice is excellent for gazal and very good for folk songs. Neither Thushar nor Najim is an excellent performer/mover. People like Arun and Vani are the masters in performance on the stage. Durga is blessed with her wide range of music she could sing. Again, she is not a good dancer/mover on the stage. She cover this inability with her costumes.
Giving one prize worth as large as 40 lakhs or in future 2 crores to one person in a competition like this is in no way helps upcoming music talents. The only benefits of announcing such huge prizes is
(1)Make the show more popular
(2)Channel to make money thru sms, advertsements
(3)Channels to make and fill more programmes based on the show
(4)Promote partiality and egoism among judges, contestants and their families, viewers etc.
(5)Tax escavation for the prize sponsors
(6)Spoil the academic career of the young participants
(7)Utter waste of money and energy
of every one involved.

Ranjini was announcing "our fabulous, fantastic, beloved and excellent Judges MG, Sarath and Didi" through out this show. Asianet is the only channel in the world who will announce the judges are great and at the same time allow Sooraj & Team to potray them as "JOKERS". This clearly shows the kind of respect Asianet give to their panel of judges. We are lucky that they did not allow Sooraj & Team to mimic Balamurali..Thank God

Binu, you got it wrong. Asianet is a TV channel and has many competitors. They will go to any extent in getting popularity, viewership, sponsors for their programs and money. The three judges of ISS-2007 loves if any body mimics them even as jokers. Many times we have seen them enjoying this in Asianet. The mimicry artists have made all these three judges more popular than their judging performance in ISS-2007. MG's chiri, Sharath's sangathi and Didi's fantastic is all that made them distinct. Other than that they are like any other judges. Asianet as well as judges themselves know that. So the present approach of 'respecting and portaying as jokers" is to fool the public and getting mutually benefited.

What is the ultimate aim of idea star singer reality show? The way Idea Star Singer -2007 was conducted and the partiality of the judges along with the the hidden agenda of Asianet it was obvious that it was not to find out the young music talents of Kerala or find out the "ideal" singer or "idea star" singer. I hope that Asianet wants to make this reality show another mega serial for money and fame playing with the academic career of its participants.

Thank you so much for re-telecasting the mesmerising Kachery of Thushar yesterday. I really felt that he should have been the IDEA STAR SINGER. Rather than an evaluation based on 100 mediocre performances, one excellent performance should be the criteria for these reality shows.

There are two facts in this show. One is as everybody discussed there are manipulations and it is a fact. But there are hard work and positivity involved in this show and we can not ignore that.
